The Messenger

- Chapter 25 of the Dao De Jing describes something that existed before heaven and earth and speaks of it as the mother of all things (translations vary), so 母 is an old Chinese word for the source. In What the Ghosts Actually Are she says the Mother is the greatest fractal, “She's in everything,” which is what 在, “is present,” says. source ↩
- The characters: 無 none, 神 god, 母 mother, 在 to be present, 心 heart or mind, 使 messenger, or to send. 使 is the second half of 天使 (tiānshǐ), the Chinese word for angel, literally “heaven's messenger.” The Sanskrit couplet that closes Play Ball, Son of Creation says the same in Sanskrit. source ↩
